Product Review Tuesday: JewelMint

Tuesday

The holidays are right around the corner, so this review is gearing us up for a little something more glam and sophisticated to wear out on the town, or to wear with our favorite knits.  Either way, we'll be dressed to kill, no matter the occasion.

Antoinette Shield Pendant

This necklace is probably my favorite piece from the whole collection.  This season, I've been wearing longer, simpler pieces with my knits and this necklace has just enough sparkle to keep a look chic yet understated.

 Aquitaine Necklace

I'm not a spike kind of a girl.  I can do modern, vintage and even edgy but never spikes.  But I'd have to say that this piece, paired with classic pearls can easily and unsuspectingly pull off a feminine, classy look.

 Honeycomb Earrings

I'm all about the front to back earrings (see my post here), the versatility and design alone are what sells this pair.  The classic design of the honeycomb, accented with a hint of sparkle and modern style of the front to back are a great statement piece.

This set had very modern designs, but inspired by vintage pieces that we all love.  These pieces can all be worn together or separately (and look great with evening wear and knits this season).  Each modern design has a vintage and classic twist, which is great to wear to those holiday parties or with a chunky sweater and your fav pair of denim.  Either way, these pieces also make great gifts (even if it's for yourself)!

Product Review Tuesday: JewelMint August

This month, JewelMint's exclusive pieces were curated and inspired by denim blues, rich warm jewel tone hues and lots of sparkle perfect for work and play.

Tribal Trove Necklace

It's officially the end of summer, and this piece is the perfect transitional piece into fall.  The aztec inspired design of this necklace is what strikes me the most which is accented by a rich teal and burnt orange color combination.  If you're wearing something simple to work, or out on the town this is the piece that will make your look.  This piece I'm sure will sell out and is my favorite from this perfectly curated JewelMint box!

Gem Envy Bracelet

The vintage glam look (and pop of color) of this bracelet is what turned heads at work today.  Not even looking at the exquisite design, but what I think really works for this piece is that the light seafoam and purple color combination which would work well in both fall and winter (and spring too), so this piece has alot of wearable use already.  Great for work but will be a great luxe accent to a simple look.

X Marks The Spot Necklace

There are statement necklaces and there are basic pieces everyone should own.  This necklace is one of them.  In my opinion, statement necklaces are amazing but there comes a time when you just can't wear it with your baseball cap and favorite tshirt.  You just can't.  This necklace is perfect for that instance and many more to add some sparkle to you look and is in a very forgiving length that will make any fashionista (maybe on her way to get groceries) look so much more put together.

This month's box of curated exclusive pieces definitely took me by surprise because I immediately fell in love with all of the pieces (and knew exactly what I would wear with them).  There's usually that one piece you just accept and keep to give to a close friend or family member but I can honestly say that I love all of these pieces.  I've been on the hunt for the perfect simple necklace, and the modern yet minimal take on the pave, X Marks The Spot necklace is absolutely perfect.  Also, fall and transitional pieces are far and few between in a sea of final sale beachy and tribal pieces.  JewelMint made is easy for me this time and truly sent me some beautiful pieces.

Product Review Tuesday: Rocksbox

Rocksbox was a completely different experience for me than other "mystery box" companies.  I feel like each and every one has their own thing, and I'm not going to lie I really love their style.

Basically, you get sent a few pieces of fabulous jewelry every month, picked out for you by your own personal stylist based on your likes and dislikes (how cool is that).  You can keep them as long as you want, and when you're done send them back.  If you find a piece that you absolutely can't part with, send back the others (and be sure to rate them) and you'll be charged for the piece(s) you keep.  It's that simple.

Every month, you receive your baubles in a beautifully packaged Rockbox box, with a little note from your stylist.  This is what I received this month and I'll be honest, I was pretty impressed.  Based on a few questions, my personal stylist quickly assumed that I love bling (umm yes) and something with classic lines.

Sierra Necklace in Crystal
Urban Gem

I'll be honest, when I first signed up wtih Rocksbox I wanted this necklace bad.  I've been looking for a necklace this size and shape for my wedding, so I knew right away this was it.  Unfortuneately, you can't really shop (although you can see designer samples) current jewelry, but not all of the designers are listed.  In a sense, that is a good thing because that way there's always that element of surprise (plus they are probably always finding new and exciting vendors).  In my case, I lucked out completely because from what I have read, Urban Gem is fabulous.  Basically they're the go-to for stylists and celebs around the glove and are sought after due to their modern vintage appeal.  Obviously they are amazing, so amazing they don't have a website but are carried through Rocksbox so I'm all for it.

Purple Frost Louvre Resin Ring

I have a very open mind when it comes to jewelry.  I'm usually all about the statement jewelry and glam, but I also have pieces that are similiar to Isharya's ring as well.  This ring really stood out to me when I first opened the Rocksbox box and I immediately fell in love with the gold detailing.  If you aren't familiar with Isharya, they are an Indian jewelry company with a modern twist so most of their pieces are gold and very unique.  I'm not a big ring person, but this ring is definitely different and goes with so much of my wardrobe already it was hard to not love it.

Lula Pyramid Studs in Ocean Blue

I almost freaked out a little when I saw that I had some Gorjana earrings in my Rocksbox collection.  No seriously.  I love Gorjana.  My stylist picked that up early on and apparently based this whole grouping around these earrings.  These studs are so perfect.  I love the color, the lines and the gold detailing, just so classic and modern.  Although I wish these were much larger, they are still very beautiful and would look great layered with other earrings or to dress up any casual outfit.

I really love surprises so it's safe to say that I'm a fan of the "mystery box".  I love that each and every "mystery box" type company is different and overall my experience with Rocksbox was a good one.  I love the fact that you work closely with a personal stylist (that is a person) and you have input about what kind of jewelry you are recieving every month.  I especially love the look and style of peices that Rocksbox has as a whole, they are very stylist, modern, and some vendors have a vintage influence.  I find it very interesting the different styles that each and every "mystery box" company has and who their target demographic is and how they market their products to them.  With Rocksbox, I have the comfort of knowing what I'm going to get for the month, even though I don't know what any of the pieces will look like.  I feel like people who aren't really into the modern look think that pieces that are modern look basic, but in my opinion the pieces that Rocksbox carries are anything but that.  If anything they are really great for layering and by themselves small or large statement pieces that you can wear forever (even if you're just borrowing them).

Product Review Tuesday: Jewelmint July

I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting this at all.  It's hot out, the middle of summer and here comes a beautifully packaged box full of vintage inspired feminine jewelry.  I fell in love.  I literally love each and every piece, but you'd have to be crazy not to.

Pastel pink is like my black.  It literally goes with everything I wear (and is also one of my wedding colors).  I love and have always loved this style of necklace (I also have it in orange) which looks stunning with both sets of earrings.

Pink Vita Necklace

Let's talk about this necklace, because that's what grabbed my attention (and what I'm sure you want to know more about right now).  How perfect is it?  Pale pink (and most pastels, done the right way) looks good on every skin tone in my opinion.  At first I was a little disappointed with the length, but after wearing it around my collar I loved it because is was a perfect hint of sparkle and subtle color.  This necklace is the necklace, especially if you are going from day to night, which leads you to the next piece, those earrings.

Le Petit Bow Earrings

My favorite feature about the VIP Box is that you don't receive random pieces of jewelry in one shipment, instead you are presented with pieces that not only go well together but also have more than one look/purpose.  The same goes for these amazing bow earrings (oh yea, I'm also obsessed with bows).  These perfect little bow earrings are so versatile.  You can wear them out to dress up an outfit or wear them to accent (or neutral piece) other jewelry you are wearing currently.  Either way, they are a perfect piece that adds a little sparkle to complete a look without being too obvious.

Desert Hoops

I'm not a big hoop girl fan, but these earrings are very different and I kind of like them.  They are a little understated, and are adorned with beautiful pink stones (pink stones, seriously who thinks of this).  I love the moden, symmetrical designs of the ingraved lines and stone placement, which is something that I haven't seen for a while (at least on hoop earrings).

Lock Cuff
(far left)

The cuff is such a cute idea, and really would make a great gift for any age.  It's very comfortable (not really adjustable or bendable fyi), has an antique look which is accentuated by not only the brass but the key and keyhole as well, so cute!  As I styled it above, it is also a really great layering piece as it's not a huge cuff so it could be worn with other jewelry comfortably.

Overall, I loved this Jewelmint VIP Box!  In a previous Jewelmint review, I had the chance to try out one of their Mystery Boxes.  The Mystery Box packaging and jewelry choices vs. the VIP Box is definitely less in comparison to the VIP Box.  Of course keeping in mind that the Mystery box is based on random pieces that are sent to you in a nice draw string bag vs. with the VIP box an actual box made for the jewelry.  In my opinion, I would try the Mystery box again, but with the mindset that probably not all the pieces will be a "set" as the VIP box is set up (and I'm ok with that, surprises are fun).

The jewelry in this VIP box are great pieces that I will wear over and over again.  I obviously  immediately fell in love with the necklace and bow earrings that came together in this box.  What really made the whole experience was that the cuff and hoop earrings could be worn with the other pieces as a set as well, so you can literally wear everything together, if you want.  The overall look of the pieces were stunning and had a sort of vintage french look to them, which is also very stunning (and perfect for fall and winter).  My VIP box experience in one word?  Obsessed!
